Hal Lindsey: Israel-Hamas war is precursor to Ezekiel 38 and 39 prophecy

Hal Lindsey, noted speaker and author of The Late Great Planet Earth, believes the current war between Israel and Hamas does not fulfill the Ezekial 38 prophecy, but is a significant precursor.

“The great earthquake of the Ezekiel 38 war has NOT begun,” he noted in a post to his website on October 15. “But we are in the midst of a major foreshock.”

Lindsey noted that the attack derailed the emerging peace deal between Israel and Saudi Arabia. “The Saudis cannot make peace with Israel now because they cannot seem to be taking the side of Jews against Muslims.”

Because the attack was “planned, funded, and equipped by Iran,” Lindsey links it to Bible prophecy. “That’s why I consider it a precursor to the war prophesied in Ezekiel 38 and 39 — a war led by Russia and Iran. And make no mistake, Russia is tied to this.”

Last week, Putin reversed a 20-year-long policy that attempted to mediate both sides, Israel and the Palestinians, while favoring the Jewish state. He called for the creation of an “independent, sovereign Palestinian state” and accused Israel of having taken by force “native Palestinian” lands.”

Last month, Iran’s Minister of Defense stated that Russia and Iran have significantly broadened the range of their cooperation.

Lindsey points to evidence that the Hamas attack was ordered by Iran. “A few days before the attack began, a billboard went up in Iran’s capital city of Tehran. The billboard says, ‘The liberation operation Storming of Al-Aqsa has started.’ Al-Aqsa refers to the oldest mosque on the Temple Mount.

“Never forget that Iran considers Israel the little Satan and the United States the big Satan. We are a target, too.”

As horrible events unfold, Christians should be ready to offer hope to their neighbors. “Christians should remember that this did not catch God by surprise,” Lindsey notes. “His plan continues. He’s taking care of you, and His offer of salvation remains open to everyone.”
