Last month, Rodney Jenkins, who worked with Michael Jackson on the Invincible album, said the controversial megastar known as the King of Pop had received Christ two weeks before his untimely death in June 2009.

Jerkins stated on The Breakfast Club radio show that Sandra Crouch and vocal coach Seth Riggs told him Jackson had prayed the “sinner’s prayer” two weeks before his death.

On The Breakfast Club recorded June 12, 2025, Jenkins said: “The ultimate reward is when I go to his funeral and Sandra Crouch and Seth Riggs, his vocal coach, says, ‘Yeah, Michael received Christ two weeks ago. He had us pray. He did the sinner’s prayer.’”

Sandra Crouch and her twin brother Andraé Crouch, gospel musicians of legendary status, confirmed meeting with Jackson in the weeks before his death to discuss music and matters of faith. Andraé has been called “the father of modern gospel music.”

They prayed and sang together, focusing on the “anointing of the Holy Spirit” to make Jackson’s music more spiritual.

In addition to their musical careers, Sandra and her brother were also co-pastors at the New Christ Memorial Church of God in Christ in Pacoima, California, a church founded by their parents. After her brother passed in 2015, Sandra continued her work as senior pastor.

Sandra died on March 17, 2024, at the age of 81, due to complications from radiation treatment for a non-cancerous brain lesion.

Before her death, Sandra denied on her Facebook page that they led Jackson to accept Christ, stating, “It has been brought to my attention that several media outlets have been erroneously reporting that my brother, Andrae Crouch and me met our dear friend Michael Jackson several weeks prior to his death so he could accept Christ. This is incorrect and absolutely not true.”

In 2009 Sandra was quoted as saying: “Andre and I did visit with Michael Jackson … Michael did not reject Jesus or the prayer when we prayed, and we were extremely pleased with his response … However, nothing was said about a ‘conversion.’”

Nevertheless, Jackson was spiritually inquisitive. Raised as a Jehovah’s Witness, he distanced himself from the organization in 1987 due to conflicts with his career. He explored various beliefs, including Christianity, Islam, and Kabbalah, and was known to read the Bible and pray regularly.

A 2024 article from Exaudi, suggested Jackson had a deep faith and may have leaned toward Catholicism. Jermaine Jackson noted Michael’s interest in Islam but denied a conversion, stating he died a Jehovah’s Witness.

Sadly, there’s no conclusive evidence that Jackson prayed to receive Christ two weeks before his death.

Only God knew his true spiritual condition when he left this earth, and where he resides forevermore.
