COLOMBIA-Pray for all who labor in the harvest field. Ask God to bring refreshing and renewal to His
people, and may the Holy Spirit encourage and strengthen each heart during these weeks of vacation. Much of the regular
activity will pick up again January 16. Intercede for our seminary students out in ministry in their home towns or villages.
Ask God to financially provide the returning and new students planning to come for the new academic year beginning January 31.
Pray for Elizabeth Sendek, seminary president, for God to speak and guide her in her leadership role, for each of the
administrative staff who resume their work and for God to provide for the financial budget of the seminary. Pray the church
in Colombia will be pure and holy, a channel of living water to those who thirst for eternal life. Pray for the believers
who live in the areas of persecution. ECUADOR-Pray with us for the OMS Ecuador team traveling to Cuenca for
meetings January 5-9. Uplift the Christian Bible Church as the small group campaign launches on January 22. Ask for
God's help and guidance for Rebecca Pazmino with all the financial, legal and tax issues to deal with in the OMS treasury
office. EVERY COMMUNITY FOR CHRIST-Ask the Lord to increase the number of righteous men and women to offer
constant intercession as needs arise for the nation of Colombia, the state of Antioquia and its nine sub-regions. Pray for
ECC coordinators, pastors and leaders who are working and setting church multiplication movement goals in Antioquia and for all
Colombia. HAITI-An urgent prayer request is for wisdom for those in authority regarding the operation of
Radio 4VEH. Pray that Maury Graham, interim OMS Haiti Treasurer, will have the books in good order and that the
computers and printers will be functioning well when Carol Folkeringa arrives in mid-January to become the OMS-Haiti treasurer.
Rick Folkeringa will be working in maintenance. Pray for Michael and Sarah Shaferly and children Hannah and Samuel completing
their assignment with One Mission Society/Homes for Haiti the end of January. Ask the Holy Spirit to give clarity and peace
regarding each decision to bring good closure in Haiti and direction for the future. Thank God for the wisdom and
strength given to Marilyn Graffenberger December 20-30 at the Villa ORMISO in Port-au-Prince, catching up on the financial
reporting and assisting with the management. Pray for the transition to new owner/managers over the next several months. Thank God for the spiritual growth seen in many lives among the agricultural and OMS campus workers as a result of the
devotional time three days a week. It has been a real encouragement to new missionary, Bud Lenker. Thank God that Kate
Zlotnicki and Erica Thompson were able to complete the process to obtain their Haitian driver's license in Port-au-Prince and
enjoy a day to relax. Praise Him that Kate's voice is improving, in answer to prayer and by using it less because of Cowman
International School's holidays. Pray for Don and Debbie Sweatman arriving January 5 to be host and hostess at the Holiday
House on the OMS campus and for Don as he overhauls diesel engines. HUNGARY-Kelley Hegedüs reports that
the Baba Mama club is beginning a new Bible study. Kelley needs God's wisdom to prepare and lead the ladies. Ask that all
the children will be happy and healthy so moms are free to attend and take part in the discussion. JAPAN-Praise the Lord
Kawano-Sensei has agreed to do our translation for Train and Multiply, the materials to be used in our church multiplication
program. Pray for the funds to come in for the project. Pray for all the details to be worked out. Pray for Steve and Dixie
King and Eri finalizing the relief trip to tsunami-damaged Minamisanriku on January 13-14. Pray as Steve and Dixie collect all
they can for the trip, buy additional items in Tohoku and arrange churches to partner with us. TAIWAN-Pray
for the construction project in Hualien. On January 6 the Hualien government will be looking at the property, and hopefully
approve the road access permit. This has been a long time coming. Pray for the rest of the permit approvals to go smoothly, so
construction can begin soon. Don and Marla Bettinger were on a church staff retreat from January 1-3 to discuss the
direction and plans for the coming year. Ask for God's help in implementing each decision made. SOUTH
KOREA-Pray for Bob Warren visiting Korea January 4-7 to meet with the church multiplication strategy committee for
planning and training. Pray that this will result in more people coming to know Christ and being discipled. Intercede for
Seoul Theological University having entrance examinations with prospective students on January 5. Pray for God to lead the
students that He wants to study at STU. SPAIN-Pray for wisdom and discernment for Paul and Sylvia Cummings
to follow up with non-Christian friends who have viewed the "Fireproof" film and the "My Hope" evangelical television program in
their home. Pray that each one will come to know Christ as their personal Savior. Pray for a Spanish couple who have attended the
Vision Sierra Oeste home groups and events for several years now, but have yet to receive Christ. Pray for a spiritual
breakthrough in their lives and for wisdom for Sergio and Annette Rosell working with them. Praise the Lord for what He is doing
through the Peace and Hope network of house churches that now has over 200 people meeting in five Spanish cities. They are in the
process of requesting legal recognition from the Spanish government. Pray that the paperwork will go smoothly, and that
recognition will be granted as this provides an important foundation for the future expansion of the work. UKRAINE-Ukrainians celebrate Christmas on January 6, according to the Orthodox calendar. Pray for safety for
those who are traveling this week. Pray for many in Ukraine to accept the gift of Jesus' salvation this year. |
